Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we still can’t decide if we’re going to spend the holiday in Michigan. I hope we do! I need a break from everyday home life. Not that I don’t want to spend time with my family, but it would be nice to get away from the day to day drama for a change. I’ll say again, having a large family is awesome, but it also has its drawbacks, especially when everyone doesn’t see eye to eye, and you’re the peace maker in the bunch. I guess it comes with being a Libra, I constantly look for harmony and find myself stuck in the middle.
As much as I have been excited about Christmas in the past month or two, for some reason I just can’t seem to find my Christmas spirit at this time. Maybe if I put the tree up and get some decorations out, it will help. We will celebrate Christmas with all the kids this year the weekend before Christmas. I’m looking forward to having all the kids at the house! This year I won’t make nearly as much food as I did last year. I don’t think Chris and Crystal really cared for the food that I fixed, and Andrew and James ended up eating before they came. A lot of food was left over for just Bob and me, and some of it just isn’t the same re-heated.
Mya has learned 2 new words, and knows how to use them effectively! However they’re not words we wanted her to learn. I have yet to hear her say them, but she’s used them more then once while being with Mom. The first word she used, while looking at something mom had held between her legs, was “what the hell?”, and she had a puzzled look on her face as if she were trying to figure out what mom was doing. The next word came when something wasn’t working to her liking and she said, “well, $hit!”. Again, these are not words we want to hear her say, and most certainly we don’t encourage. Bob and I both try our hardest to censor ourselves when Mya is around. I’m thankful that Mom doesn’t make a big deal out of it, because Mya would love it if she thought saying these things would get a laugh or a rise out of someone. Mom calmly tells her that those aren’t nice things to say. Let’s hope this doesn’t become a continued problem.
Made a new photo book, and boy was I so disappointed when it arrived and I had made a typo. Shutterfly has a very nice program for making books, it alerts you of possible spelling errors, pictures that won’t print right, etc. Well, since my typo was actually a word, the Shutterfly spell check didn’t catch it, and when I proof read it, before ordering, I didn’t catch it either. Now, the book says “when you HOLE her in your arms”. And I had 3 copies of the book made to give as Christmas gifts! I’m going to try and get a white pen and see if I can’t put a little loop de loop on the “e” and try to make it look more like a “d”. If the first one doesn’t look right, I’ll just let the recipients know there’s a small typo in the book, and I won’t try the white pen on the rest. We’ll see how that goes.
TTFN!
